Pros: Light, compact, crisp, af lightning, price, built-in lampshade

Cons: But what con? The lack of tropicalization, perhaps.

Opinion: Purchased not even a month ago by a forum user at a more than reasonable price and in excellent condition. Attached immediately to the 5d Mk III for a few test shots on the sidewalk in front of the house, he immediately exalted me for the handling and balance with respect to the machine (with bg). Back in the house, I saw distinctly the neighbors on the terrace two hundred meters away... I wonder what he can get out of birdlife, if I'm capable of it. Convinced by the positive reviews I found at a hundred euros a kenko multiplier 1.4. Walk to Castiglione della Pescaia, a few photos at the Diaccia Botrona and you go home. In front of the PC the jaw fell on the keyboard : there was Grosseto in the background and stood out very well with an unexpected sharpness. This is the link to the photo: https://www.juzaphoto.com/galleria.php?t=3475083&l=it Conclusion: I paid 600 euros with all the factory kit and a camouflage cover and in conditions close to the new, has an excellent handling, beautiful colors, sharp abbestia, multipliable with little expense. I consider it a valid tool for naturalistic photos and in genres where mm are never enough but without compromise on the level of quality.

Pros: Lightweight, robust, fantastic integrated lampshade, gorgeous optical quality

Cons: For what it costs, nothing

Opinion: It's my favorite lens, the one that's glued to my 5d3 90 percent of the time (and it was also on the previous 30 and 40d). I have to say that I'm "born" with fixed. I started my photographic adventure with an Olympus om1 and an oly 300 4.5, so finding myself in my hands this lens was for me like going back to the origins. Those who are not used to using fixed canvases may find it difficult to find the subject right away. Everyone else can only love this lens. I read criticism scants on the lack of stabilizer, on the diaphragm 5.6 etc... but you forget about its quality relative to the price. I can't afford anything else and I use the 400 5.6 mainly to try to photograph the pack of wolves that I've been following for 15 years. I've always used it with the 1.4 x Canon and on 5d3 the pairing is fantastic, with minimal loss of quality. This year to try to get closer I also bought a 2x, always version II (it's a dated lens, why match a modern TC?) ... I'd done it before! Surprised by the results I also tried the "combo" by joining 1.4/2 and I have to say that the results are not bad at all. But always on 5d3! On apsc the files instead lose heavily in quality! With the 5d3 in live view then you keep the autofocus even with the "combo"... it looks amazing but it is so! Combining even a wireless shot I managed to take beautiful photos of one of the most elusive animals ever, with a final quality of the file that left me stunned! What would I change it with if I had the money? Since the mm is never enough I would change it only for a 500 5.6 IS or for a 400DO... Vote 10 Louis

Pros: Lightness, AF, price and sturdy structure from L-series

Cons: Better if it was F4 and tropicalized.

Opinion: I am fully satisfied, I state that I use it exclusively for birdlife in the cabin and for African safari, combined with the 7d and 5diii gives me excellent files, only sore note (although I never had the opportunity to try but reading the negative reviews) Match it to Canon Exstender. Integrated hood very comfortable and robust, so I recommend it to those who like me can not push the purchase of 500 II that for me remains a great dream also used.

Pros: Integrated sharpener-weight-lense

Cons: Maf minimum

Opinion: In use on 1dIII where, (as only 10mpx does not allow appreciable crops) it often travels in conjunction with a kenko 1.4x dgx pro - good yield, even to TA (acceptable with 1.4x where it improves considerably if it closes at least 2 diaphragms) - Fast AF but .... I was hoping for better (70/200 f 4 I thought it was fast) - weighing the right x for free handshake though I would have liked adding 1/2 kg x I would not have missed the stabilizer at least x my use - the integrated lint is a "cool" (if it does not break) - the maf at 3.5 mt , (I'm used to the 1.6 mt of Sigma 400 f. 5.6 or macro) and it is rather limiting, especially with a few lump sums, but it is remedied with an extension tube and repays (compared to Sigma) at medium distances , Where it still has good detail - great choice, also in relation to the price on the market of the used, x who seeks quality, mobilization and possibility of d To apply without too many renunciations - certainly oneAF + fast ....!

Pros: Sharpness, AF speed, weight, grip, price, construction quality

Cons: Minimum MAF distance, lack of tropicalization

Opinion: Bought used on the forum, I'm very happy with it. Sharpness is its strong point and the AF speed is good. The lack of the stabilizer does not feel like taking pictures of bird life to avoid the move is far below the safety time. It's light, cumbersome, and built in impeccably. Had it been tropicalized it would have been perfect. The filters are from 77, human beings, therefore, only neo, the minimum distance of the MAF which is 3.5m.rn I noticed that the weight of my specimen, which is 2008, is 180 grams more than the declared one. It may be that in the latest versions, glasses and polymers have been replaced. This may be why someone complained of replacing an exemplary dated with a new specimen, finding a loss of sharpness of the latter. It's just a hypothesis of course, even if the weight does not mind (180g more). I tried to multiply it withThe Canon 1.4xIII, but it loses a lot of sharpness. Better cropped in my opinion.rn I advice.rnrn
