Pros: Full Frame. Image quality. Intuitive ergonomics and menu. Juicy LP-E6 battery, shared among many prosumer EOS cameras. CF card slot. mRAW, sRAW. Rugged construction. And a vast EF lens family to play with.

Cons: Shadow recovery isn't that great. Consumer grade AF. Only 3.9fps. Fixed LCD. And a bit heavy.

Opinion: It's a great tool for many deeds. 22mp in its time was the state-of-the-art imaging sensor with 1080p video/LiveView features and to this day those pictures hold their ground well. Nice LCD quality and size, but it doesn't really work well in bright sunlight, which is only normal, I guess. Now, being a decade old camera, it's a fantastic camera to start with for any beginner, photography enthusiast, because it can be had used for less than a brand new Rebel class DSLR (less than $600), which is crazy and fantastic. IMHO, CF card is a faster and much safer media to deal with, than SD, but, if needed, SD can be easily adopted via CF-to-SD adapter.

Pros: Robustness, ergonomics, battery life, FF sensor, value for money, reliability and resiliency, excellent resolution and file quality, ISO management

Cons: Not suitable for sport, not always reliable on moving objects

Opinion: It is my first reflex, bought at the end of August 2019. Crazy, just crazy. It allows growth, for a novice photo amateur, to say the least incredible. After months of practice they are far from its limits! The value for money is nothing short of great, digital noise is acceptable even at isos high up to 3200 (I took pictures of stray cats of Yogyakarta, at night, and the results turned out to be impeccable) and to be honest I don't even know what to write, it's just amazing. A professional camera at the cost of an entry level (I dare say). The best way to explain this camera I think is the following: it is old, evidently. In 2020 we now see technologies like eye af tracking. This, on the contrary, of electronics and software has very little. If you use it well, the photo will be beautiful. If you use it badly, the result will be bad, so much so that it is overtaken by a mobile phone. Not surprisingly, when my friends saw my first portraits, they asked me why I had spent so much on nothing. After months of study, the situation has changed a lot. In my opinion it is a great camera for a photo amateur, especially in the case of a rookie like me: the lack of many modern aids will force you to really learn how the world of photography works, without shortcuts, giving you a lot of satisfaction (knowing, by the way, that they are yours). But it can also be an excellent second machine body, reliable and of very fine quality. I consider it my "goto" for all those whose budget is around 600 euros, playing it with the 6D, although the latter did not seem as comfortable for the lack of the joystick (indispensable for the choice of the point of af!). For those worried about weight: I admit that it is certainly not a light device, but it is not even such an unmanageable beast. During a 25-day trip to Indonesia I always carried it with all the kit (4 targets, filters, batteries, flash...) and I never regretted the purchase made. On the contrary: the poor woman did not blink even finding herself working in a plastic bag in the middle of a monsoon! The dimensions are felt only after hours of continuous use (about 4), with the flash mounted, working at parties.

Pros: Robustness, ergonomics, battery life, FF sensor, value for money

Cons: AUTO-ISO function to say the least embarrassing, inability to delete photos by date

Opinion: I return to the world reflex FF after a five-year experience with various brands of ML format APSC, all my review should be read knowing that I more than 500 euros for a body machine do not want to spend them, I know well that some of my accomplished have been surpassed by more modern equipment (but too expensive). The things that I missed and found are the following: First of all, a certain way of using a camera, a level ergonomics, the fact that you can go away 2 days with a single battery and know that it will be enough, do not have to worry too much about rain/sketches/etc., a machine body built to be used in a certain way, a few customizable keys because what there has been studied to be there, they worked on it flower of designers, who am I to put mouth on which keys go where (here are a little ironic but I like to find a medium that goes well with my needs without feeling the need to change anything). FF sensor, I do almost just portrait, having a stop in less pdc than the apsc helps me. It's my taste here, there's nothing you can do about it. What didn't I like? To put it bluntly, the only real flaw (but as soon as it drops below 500 degrees I take the Mk3 that solves) is the implementation of auto-iso... I'd like to go for a coffee with the people who thought of it. Then one thing That I found only in Nikon (at the time of the D90) and that I miss to die, that is the ability to delete photos of a single date... I often go out and shoot and finish the space in the card because it was full of photos from the previous days, the fact that I can not delete them in bulk makes me nervous...

Pros: Reliable, robust, ergonomic with excellent grip, I can say that the consumption of batteries in my case has never been felt.

Cons: I didn't find any defects to report because he didn't give me any.

Opinion: Gone from Canon 40D to 5DThe leap in quality has been clear, the high iso yield has improved in the work of the files, a dated but reliable AND highly recommended FF to those who want to make a leap in quality, spending the right in the world of the used. Buy it and you will take away some nice satisfactions, my advice is as a photoamateur, my photographs are available to those who want to see if there is quality in the camera, I do not use in Photoshop or other specialized programs, I just use the program that offers the Canon the Digital Photo Professional (DPP) for small tweaks.

Pros: 21MP Full Frame camera, great detail, rich features, yummy LCD, robustness, reliability.

Cons: Nobody.

Opinion: Wonderful camera, my first FF, where I could recognize my 24 mm shots, as I wanted them. I switched to it after the 40D and had to change some optics, clearly. The machine is soft to the touch and extraordinarily ergonomic, the weight is not felt, also thanks to its grip, that the scale and feeds it well. Top functionality, unique robustness and total reliability make it an FF, now reachable with little. Buy it and you'll see some nice ones, pictures.
