Pros: Full Frame. Image quality. Intuitive ergonomics and menu. Juicy LP-E6 battery, shared among many prosumer EOS cameras. Smaller and lighter than 5D series. WiFi, GPS. Good high ISO performance. Silent shutter

Cons: AF system not much better than in the old 5D Mark II. Despite many design similarities with EOS 60D/70D/80D, it lacks a vari-angle touch screen. SD card slot - I'd really prefer CF (or two).

Opinion: The 6D in many ways is an improvement to the 5D Mark II - better sensor, better plastic (no rattling doors), faster shooting, WiFi, GPS, better battery life (same battery though) and the smaller size and weight is appreciated by many. The back wheel+joystick/dir-pad combo works nicely. Now I can easily operate with my right hand without taking it off the grip, while holding the lens with my left, because most of the buttons are on the right side. There are some little things, like 1/4000 maximum shutter speed, 1/180 flash sync speed or no dedicated WB button, which make it inferior, but, for me, they are not that important.

Pros: Shooting higher ISO in museums and other locations without tripods.

Cons: All cameras have strong/weak points. More focus points and an integrated flash would be an option.

Opinion: Great camera. Always trying to make the best out of it. Speed is not to bad. Made fast moving events with the 6D, like air shows, rodeos and speed boats. For certain occasions a build in flash could save the day. It is also a discrete and smaller camera than the big pro bodies where some persons have to show their wealth. New cameras on the horizon. We might see an upgraded model 6D Mark II sometimes in 2017.

Pros: FF, shredded used prices, tropicalized, robust, IQ, good battery life

Cons: Maybe 1/4000 (but on the other hand it has ISO50), uncomfortable PDC preview button, WB car a little uncertain

Opinion: I bought a 6D used in February 2020 as a second body, I also have a 7D mkII. What to say, as much as I paid it(400euro with 40stm, 40k shots) it's a crime to complain. The body is sturdy, not very big, but it holds very well, it is not at the levels of the 7D as grip, but it is still great, bad only for the door of the SD that is not very solid and holding it feels, but maybe it is just my a little worn. The menus are clear and easy as usual of the Canon, the interface is the usual of both my old entry-level and the 7D, integrates perfectly with the Eos system of Canon, shares the LP-E6 battery with a lot of models, including also the 7D mkII and the 5D mkIII. The IQ is really excellent, the colors are very beautiful, the images very sharp and defined if you use good optics. In my opinion 20MPX are great because it allows you to have light files and well-engraved images, sharp, clean and at the same time few MPXs help to keep the noise low. I found that the high iso seal varies a lot depending on the light present, for example in poorly lit interiors suffers a little, while it suffers much less if you are outdoors and maybe you need very fast times and a diafr. quite closed, there it does much better, coming to 6400 iso the noise is really very little. The viewfinder is not a big disaster, the AF works well if you use the center, the external points are not a great deal, but for the use that I have to make, that is, mostly static photos (for the action I have 7D) is absolutely not a problem to recompose a little. To do this it is very convenient to use the AF on the back button "AF-ON" so that you do not have to hold down the shutter button in half to recompose. In LV does not fare very well, the AF is very slow and uncertain, much better to focus manually at that point, if you are using the tripods. The only real flaw I found at this body is the PDC preview button, it's tiny and in a completely wrong position! In 7D the usual key is at least 5 times larger (not joke) and put a little more on so that you get there very easily even with the ring finger, on the 6D you have to use the other hand otherwise you do not press it! If you're looking for a body that's a bit of a handyman for more static genres, take it now. If you also do sports and other dynamic genres maybe it is not suitable for you.

Pros: economic - FF - tropicalized

Cons: AF - excluding center point

Opinion: I've owned it for several years and it's never had a hitch even under a cloudburst/snow/freeze/sand. Eexpress a lover's thought not as a professional, there is a whole other pair of sleeves. What are the best photos I've taken... certainly not the ones done effortlessly... and by effortlessly I mean tip and snap with automatic settings, for that there is the smatphone that sure gives equally beautiful memories. From this comes the success of the 6D, not a machine that excels and did not even exceed at the exit, in anything, but a machine that allowed me to spend time in what I like: composition of the image, work on the exposure and think a little like you did once with the film, trying to take advantage of every click, fatigue gives satisfaction, limits are transmuted in occasions to exploit, this is the challenge that poses you the 6D, the challenge? Photography is changing and it seems to me that you prefer to go out, shoot burst photos and then invest time in posts, it's not what I like! Not that developing a photo isn't tiring, in fact for me it's almost a heartbreak... and that's why I love 6D, the files it returns are ready. I like to relax photographing and the slow 6D works like this. in some ways and here "sacrilege" a bit like a Leica. If you like what I like about photography this machine will always please you, if you love working on the photos in the post you will definitely find much better in everything.

Pros: price of used, tropicalized, construction/ergonomics, high iso seal, battery life; wifi/gps (but they can be a con).

Cons: clutter, af, fixed screen, 1/4000

Opinion: Taken used two years ago at about 600 euros and subsequently resold to switch to mirrorless, what to say.... A fantastic and super ergonomic machine body. Used in all weathers (especially in the cold) it has always held up well, excellent battery tightness, perhaps also due to construction and tropicalization. The shutter reaches 1/4000 and in cases of high brightness such as glaciers or high mountains can be a problem. As for the autofocus I could see a good reliability of the cross-centre point, the remaining 10 leave a little to be desired. 20 mp are more than good for this FF, you have the advantage of always having very beautiful and light files; certainly in my opinion in post production you will not make recoveries at the level of sony, however with a little effort you always pull out great photos. Wifi and gps can be an extra point, but not for me, never using them...... Its "battlehorse" if you can say so is the good iso estate, which makes it really great for night photographs......... in conclusion........ a great body machine that I recommend to all those who want to make a nice leap in quality in the world of reflex.
