Pros: Compactness&weight, sharpness, price

Cons: Well it depends, for what it costs and represents I would say no one, maybe bokeh not very pleasant

Opinion: Taken used to a ridiculous figure (but on average it is still around 90/100 euri), it satisfied my need to be able to ride in practice everywhere with a light and above all not flashy lens. My 1300D with this pancake almost looks like a compact, so much so that I almost miss being able to support the reflex while maintaining the lens, which could represent a more serious lack if mounted on larger machine bodies, such as a 7D. It's very sharp already at f2.8, at f4 it's a blade. What to say, the focal length is quite standard (38mm equivalent FF), I do everything, or almost (I tend to avoid portraits, which I find a bit distorted - I prefer different focal lengths - and with a bokeh effect a bit too nervous). Great for street and landscapes, in the evening/night I would prefer to use a faster lens. Clearly not to be used in MF: just thinking about turning that mini-dial makes me jump my nerves, but after all the strength of the lens is just that (the compactness, including the dial). Ultimately, grade 9: If you're looking for a compact lens to carry around, mounted or in your pocket, it's the best purchase you can make.

Pros: Compactness, sharpness even at TA, AF speed, great value for money

Cons: If you like this corner of the field, no one

Opinion: Purchased to have an optics considered normal on APS-C. It actually returns a field angle very similar to that of the eye. Excellent sharpness in the center also at TA, useful "macro" function due to the minimum distance of MAF. Great contrast and MAF very fast and quiet also thanks to the STM engine. Despite this, I have decided to get rid of it because, for the use I do, it is neither meat nor fish. Too long for a landscape, too short for portraits and macros. It's suitable for the street, but it's not the kind of photography I do. One last extremely subjective thing is the "evirate" syndrome, such a compact lens is certainly positive if you do street and is paired with equally compact machine bodies. In my case however I can not have a nice grip on my 40D (not really light and compact) precisely because the pancake is very small. For the rest great value for money.

Pros: Tiny! It's in your pocket. It looks like a button but churns out respectable photos.

Cons: Nothing.

Opinion: It weighs a nonsense, clutterabouts zero. You put him on the car and then you swear because you think you came out with only the body. After a series of fairly targeted tests, I can say that it has an image quality that does not make you scream with joy, but the shot is there and you do not throw it. Maf spells like any other STM. Used costs a dinner in two. Combined with its machines, normally more minute than the FFs, it seems to have a compact. He doesn't miss anything. Over-recommended purchase for generalist use (considering the crop factor that returns a field angle very close to a 35mm on FF.) The minimum focus distance is paltry and allows you to take selfies with the reflex (I swear That I Do, When I'm in company), to the face of mobile phones. What more do you want?

Pros: Compactness, value for money

Cons: In relation to the price virtually none

Opinion: Great lens if you think that, taking advantage of some offers, you buy new at a price around 120-130 Euros with canon Pass Italia warranty; it's a very sharp lens all over the frame already at full open. Chromatic aberrations are practically absent and even the distortion is not very pronounced; the STM autofocus is reliable, quiet and fast even if, to be very fussy, sporadically errs to properly hook the subject. The blur is good and an additional point in favor of this lens can be the reduced distance of maf. Definitely to buy if you are looking for a bright fixture on APSC without spending too much.

Pros: Price, lightness, compactness, very sharp, MAF fast and quiet.

Cons: I can't find any... perhaps the lampshade to be taken apart, but many Canon targets have this "defect".

Opinion: I associate myself with the comments of other users adding that I am using it with extreme satisfaction on mirrorless APS-C Fujfilm by adaptor and without any loss of functionality and quality, indeed; on these cameras, the field angle is equal to that of a 36 mm. but the quality of this optics remains unchanged. Wrongly, in the past, I had twisted my nose in front of this lens ideally associating his small physical thickness with an equally small optical thickness... and I was wrong!!! I'm glad to have it and especially to use it.
