Pros: Accurate, vr stratospheric, well-balanced, optical performance

Cons: For the price range none. Maybe the lampshade.

Opinion: I've owned it for 3 years. Paired with D500 is a bomb. At 400mm and f5.6 is, af speed aside, at the same level as a fixed optics (and I say this from owner of 500 f4), to 500mm to have the top goes diaphragated to f8. Af very precise but a little slow. For the rest it is a very recommended lens, especially for safaris and itinerant shots. I took him to South Africa, with the D500 he didn't miss one and I say one photo. If it had a faster af it would cost at least twice as much.

Pros: Value for money, weight compared to other supertles, excellent stabilizer

Cons: A couple of times he went into the af freeze, sometimes I seem to suffer too much heat haze (hot air masses over long distances)

Opinion: I have been using it for 3 years and I have to say that it is almost perpetually mounted on the reflex (a D610 that does not shine for af but the pairing has taken away from me anyway great satisfactions in naturalistic ... not being able to invest large budgets, however, I am more than satisfied). Chosen for the lower weight than the Sigma 150 600 S because I walk a lot, but if one moves little I recommend the latter for the 100mm more (in Italy you are always short with supertele). Made great but I have to complain photos kneaded over long distances at certain times, I think it is common to all canvases but it gives me the impression that the cheap ones suffer more. A couple of times he even blocked the af and I had to turn off and turn on the reflex to make it work. I have never been able to try more performing equipment but I still feel very good and highly recommend it. The lampshade does not seem to me to be a problem at all, it fits perfectly and the bag to me does not serve by placing the equipment in an ICU inside the backpack.

Pros: price,full-open sharpness,stabilizer,weight

Cons: lampshade, tripod bracket, case.

Opinion: I bought it at the end of July excellent value for money, sharp already at full opening the maximum reaches it to f8,the weight is not excessive you can use freehand thanks to an excellent vr,obvious that after a few hours the weight is felt.the autofocus is not a rocket if para 200-400 f4 but it's normal the latter costs 5 times as much.it has no major defects apart from the bracket of the tripod a little short if used on gimball nsit of a longer plate otherwise it remains unbalanced especially at 500 mm,very thin lampshade and case imbarrazzante.in summary a lens that I recommend with 1300 euros we take home a nital lens of excellent quality without having to spend a capital.unfortunately I have to sell it to buy the fixed 500 mm.

Pros: Sharpness, price, stabilizer, good af although not lightning, lightness

Cons: sad soft bag

Opinion: As far as I'm concerned, I find a very successful view. I come from 150-600 Sport and as sharpness we are there, maybe a little bit worse, but I have to say that my copy is beautiful sharp and does not make him regret in the least. Finally I can use freehand optics and even to track the subject in flight is no longer a problem thanks to the weight contained. Autofocus ok and outstanding stabilizer. Tropicalization and the construction of 70-300 giant, I do not consider it a problem. For me, it's a best buy. I'm going to keep it until the 200-600 for nikon Z.

Pros: Optically egregious, incredible stabilizer, price, very soft and ergonomic zoom ring

Cons: Slow AF, plasticose construction, unwatchable lens hood

Opinion: We assume that to decide I bought both him and the 150-600 sport, and making a comparison 1:1, I decided to keep the Sigma. But let's talk about this Nikon. Optically it is very good, especially in terms of sharpness. What is lacking compared to a fixed in my opinion, is the contrast. I tried to make a 1:1 comparison with the Nikon 300 2.8, and it turned out to be a big difference in terms of contrast and color depth. For the rest, the sharpness is very similar to a high-level fixed. But unfortunately the AF is slow, there is nothing to do. Here the differences are exaggerated, and for a slightly more "cheerful" use, will show all its limits compared to a fixed as a 500 F4 or a 300 2.8 multiplied. The construction is unfortunately very scarce, all plastic, including the lens hood, which does not even possess a knurling to counteract the reflexes. This constructive choice influences the weight, which is very low, allowing a clear hand use even for the most "Gracilini". The VR is scary, even on a d500 (maximum pixel density in the Nikon house along with the d850) can provide perfectly sharp images even with times of 1 \ \ 50. This allows you to stay content with the ISO, and diaphragm up to F8 to get maximum sharpness. In conclusion It is a very nice lens, optically incredible, with a stabilizer and a weight that allow a free hand use even for whole days, and with a price all in all given. I decided to hold the Sigma simply because I prefer to feel the metal than the plastic, and because the AF is much more responsive. At the optical quality level at F8 find differences is difficult, to TA maybe the Sigma is a sharper hair, but it's not exactly a discriminant.
