Pros: the perfect camera for travel; lightweight body, very good quality of jpg, battery life

Cons: battery cover comes off: never try to change the battery during a walk; the price

Opinion: The review is based on the experience with the previous equipment: from the Russian range-finder zorki 4 through DDR-made practica MTL3, and finally: Nikons: F601m, F100, FM2, FM3a, D700, D5500, D7100. Unfortunately, the images conveyed by diapositives (Fuji velvia100, 50; provia 100) shown on a large screen (160 cm) cannot be compared with the digital images on 30 inch monitor. From all respects the former make a better impression, at least regarding the color tones and making an impression of multi-plan views. The photos shown in my modest galleries here do not reflect the overall attractiveness of dias. Moreover, Fuji reala 100 gave beautiful color tones. Since now both velvia and reala disappeared we have to use digital cameras. They should be compared only with their digital counterparts. Nikon D700 gives very good images of human faces and close lying subjects. Since its jpg s are unusable it is very inconvenient for travel photography. We have to reckon with spending hundreds of hours at PP. I have also tried D750 for 3 days and happily returned it to the shop, since 10 % of images were unsharp (with nikkor 24-120 f4*). The jpgs were very precise but mostly ugly and unattractive. Nikon D7100 cannot be used indoors without a flash, since max ISO is ca 800. This is a good camera for a good weather. I guess that D8XX will be similar, but I have no experience. Nikon Df is free of these drawbacks It can be used as a travel camera in all cases: outdoor and indoor. The jpg files at standard settings are attractive and, simultaneously, highly correct. Be careful with raw files-they are huge. The peculiar feature of Nikon Df is very accurate and pleasing rendering of green shades, which is a crucial factor in the landscape photography. In contrast, all other cameras mentioned above render the green colors of nature incorrectly. The worst tones appear during the sunsets. Nikon Df is a tactile camera; the change of settings can be done without putting the body to our eyes. This is vitally important for our safety, when we walk along the stones of mountain ridges , cross the rocky saddles, traverse the hillsides. On the other hand the constant change of settings is indispensable in forests, e.g. going along levadas of Madeira, we have to introduce the exposure compensation carefully (e.g -.7) and have a constant control over ISO. ************************************************************************************************************************ * Now I know that this lens was in fact spoiled, just D750 disclosed its defficiency; this lens failed to work some months later. Thus, this lens should not be bought used, it is very delicate, the reason is VR. I am withdrawing hereby my criticism towards AF in D750, but jpgs are much worse than those from Df.

Pros: Excellent from the point of view of construction quality and photographic results. An image quality that is appreciated especially with high ISO and with very bright lenses.

Cons: For my expectations and for the motivation of the choice, none.

Opinion: I rediscovered the magic of the colors and complexion of my favorite film in my youth, which was the Professional Agfachrome 50S. Unfortunately very delicate film, to treat the proper attentions, to think that the film was in an aluminum container with screw cap and rubber garnish... It provides excellent results with both very bright and slightly agè optics such as the 85mm f1.4 D or the 80-200 f2:8 pump, and with newer optics such as the 24-120 f4. In my SLR park it is definitely the one that satisfies me the most.

Pros: Light, compact, immediate analog controls, wonderful sensor

Cons: Excessive price; one SD memory slot

Opinion: Beautiful machine, perfect as a second body or to go out light without losing in quality. I had it in practice provided to me by a friend and honestly I would like to buy it as a second body to accompany my D850. Only it costs too much to be new for my taste. I'll look for a good used, maybe someone who was disappointed...

Pros: Sensor yield, High ISO performance, Weight and size, Aesthetics, Value on the used market.

Cons: Limited AF area, only one SD slot.

Opinion: Socket used with very few shots to support the D810 and Fuji X100S, has become the body I use more and with greater satisfaction.rnMonta a sensor in my opinion fantastic that produces exciting files that I would call velvety, limited only in case of extreme crop for via the low pixel density, a feature that, however, allows super performance at high ISO. In practice it is the exact opposite to the 36mp of the D810.rnWithstanding the limited weight is ergonomically more uncomfortable compared to D8xx type bodies ... but, as far as I'm concerned, it is tremendously beautiful, especially if coupled with vintage optics with dimensions not excessive.rn

Pros: fantastic sensor, aesthetic, manual setting rings, timeless charm.

Cons: Do not have it.

Opinion: beautiful and powerful subject, a mind-boggling photo sensor are made to ISO 3200 with the noise of a d810 200 iso.rnEstetica beautiful and in my opinion unbeatable, maybe it could be better cared for in some small details but has a shape that falls well in hand and a weight that makes it unbalanced at times with the zoom of the holy triad but nonetheless I I fall in love every volta.rnNon is a machine born to express the absolute photographic performance, it is an object made to leave a smell in the hands of amarcord those who use it and to revive a bit of emotion to those who grew up with really beautiful f.rnImmagini series, as nice as macchina.rn
