Pros: Sharpness over the entire focal range, F/4 fixed, light and very well built. A real Zeiss.

Cons: For the value for money for me of big flaws does not have any, apart from perhaps an important physical length.

Opinion: I wanted a cheap tele zoom and my trusted shopkeeper had this little gem on sale at a cheap price. After I finally got it today I had the chance to test it on my trusted XE3. I know the fantastic Zeiss lenses, I used them already last century with a film RTS2, and then I had the 85 1.4 on the latest Fuji. But this zoom I had never considered. I admit that a zoom pump and with manual MAF puzzled me, so I went into the store with all the doubts of the case. But once I tried it, I didn't think about it for a second. The sharpness is always great, the bokeh is creamy, the ring that commands both the MAF and the focal is spectacular, typically Zeiss. If only it had been a little less long.... But I would say that for figures around 200 euros I do not think you can find better. And not least, it works and pretty well even with the Fuji 1.4 TC. Promoted with flying colors.

Pros: It's a Zeiss! Weighs little compared to current zooms (680 grams) and it means so much.

Cons: It's not autofocus and it's just F4.

Opinion: I had it for many years, I'm an old "Contaxista" with other Zeiss lenses. I did replace the bayonet with that Nikon (Leitax) plus the Chip (for the Matrix lightmeter). I'm used to manually focusing with the Contax and therefore I exploit the help of the assisted focusing provided by the Nikon D500. With the sensor at 21MB there are no problems, you have to program the Chip at F4 and focal 200 and the MATRIX goes perfect. The yield is almost that of the film and shooting in comparison with a Nikon 60/F 2.8 D Micro The zoom is even sharper already at F4 with magnification 100%. At that time I paid him about 1.7 million of the old lire, still worth all his money. I also had a Nikon 80-200 F 2.8 ID and personally, except for the autofocus, I prefer this one, both for surrender and for weight. I'll try it on FF body soon but there shouldn't be any particular problems. Certainly there is no stabilization, however, shooting at appropriate times as it was done with the film and exploiting the ISO I do not miss it.

Pros: It has a striking contrast, excellent color rendering and excellent risoluione, handy one-touch dial, flawless mechanics, can be found on the 250 Euro as used and we will give you beautiful images throughout the course of use, only 80mm at the edges to yield TA is lower than the center, but being the focal length suitable for portraits is perhaps even good.

Cons: F4 is a little 'bit would have been enough even half wider aperture to make it almost perfect

Opinion: It 'a faithful companion on excursions. trips, relatively lightweight (680g) lets you shoot with confidence that the quality will be excellent already at RT. F8 to give the best of themselves, to 200mm is definitely the most handsome Sonnar 180mm f 8 (even if a little 'less "plastic") as micro and macro contrast, I highly recommend it.
